Cancer Treatment: Different types of treatments

Cancer affects everyone, the young, old, men, women and children. Cancer is mainly found in developing countries. Cancer is one of the main causes of death in the world. But still we can avoid deaths due to cancers by giving proper treatment to cancer patients. Over 40% of all cancers can be prevented; others can be detected early, treated and cured. Even in the late stage of cancer, the suffering patients can be relieved with the help of cancer treatments.

Nowadays there are many types of cancer treatments available for cancer patients. The main treatments involve surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy or some combination of these. The choice of the cancer treatment depends on the stage of disease. Surgery can help the patient to cure their disease without damage to the rest of the body.

Some cancers cannot be cure completely; in that condition cancer treatments may help to reduce pain. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy sometimes is the only method left to cure the cancer, otherwise after surgery chemotherapy and radiation therapies are also used to destroy all the cancer cells. Immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy, biological therapy, clinical trials, proton therapy, complementary medicine, and cutting edge technologies are available for cancer treatments. Various research and developments are undergoing for better cancer treatment.
