January 14th, 2008

More than 38,000 patients make a diagnosis with lung cancer annually in UK. Lung cancer is of two types; small cell and non-small cell. Small-cell occurs in twenty percent cases but non-small cell occurs in eighty percent cases. Small lung cancer is very dangerous because it can spread in other body parts as well as get inside the lymph system and bloodstream quite quickly. Whereas, non-small cell lung cancer spread more slowly as well as if it is caught early then can be treated. Few symptoms of cancer are chest infection, difficulty swallowing, increasing breathlessness, and loss of weight and appetite. Cancer treatment is available today.

The main cause of lung cancer is smoking, but chances are there that people who do not have the habit or have never smoked can also suffer from this disease. The danger of this disease increases if smoker increases the quantity of cigarettes and his age. If smoker stops smoking, the chances of this disease reduces quickly but after fifteen years the possibilities of developing cancer is similar as of the non-smoker. Science has developed a lot and now there is no need of getting worried because cancer treatments are now available for every type of cancer. But as we all know that precaution is better than cure!
